The Aquamarine is the Birthstone for the Month of March and is the blue member of the Beryl family along with well known Emerald (green) and less known Morganite (peach) and Heliodor (yellow). The name Aquamarine comes from Latin and means “water of the sea” and for that reason, it has been used by sailors as a talisman for centuries and it is believed to protect the wearer from drowning.
Aquamarines can be found in all continents but the largest supplier is Brazil.
Aquamarine is considered a stone of courage and it is used to reduce stress and calm the mind.
